Mercure Newcastle George Washington Hotel Golf & Spa, Washington (Durham)

Overall, my stay at the hotel was quite enjoyable, with exceptional food and friendly staff that went above and beyond to assist me. However, the experience was slightly marred by a few issues with the room setup and tardiness of service on some occasions. The modern renovation of the hotel was a positive touch, but the room inconveniences prevented it from being a perfect stay.

The hotel has some great features, especially for golf enthusiasts. The staff is very welcoming and attentive, and while the rooms could use some updates, they are clean and comfortable. However, the breakfast left much to be desired, lacking variety and quality. The dining experience in the restaurant was a highlight with delicious pizza on offer.
